Suitors of Soo Wincci, you would have to wait, as the pretty lass is not keen on falling in love right now.

Here’s why she is determined to avoid Cupid’s arrow: “When you fall in love, somehow your attention gets divided. When I was in a relationship, I tend to do a lot for my other-half. Once you are single, it’s as if you are stronger.

“I would rather spend the time on learning something new as my dream is getting bigger. I want to fully concentrate on my career and give it a full go to see how far I can go,” said the beauty queen-turned-singer, whose ultimate dream is to break into Hollywood.

Nothing shall come in the way of her career for the ambitious singer-actress – not even a Mr. Right.

“I promise myself that I’ll wait (if the right guy does appear). I give myself until 2014. In fact, I purposely set my criteria (for Mr. Right) so high so that I won’t easily find one,” she said with a laugh.

Just how high, you asked? Well, he has to be taller than Soo, who stands at 170cm. He also has to have a higher education level than Soo, who is currently pursuing a PhD in Business Administration. He would score some extra points if he looks like Korean heartthrob Bae Yong Joon.

However, what matters the most is that he must be someone who can fully support her career.

“Men, especially Asians, generally don’t like their other-halves to be more successful then themselves. And they’re always asking: ‘When are we getting married?’ I need someone to give me the freedom,” she explained.

That’s certainly something the winner of Miss World Malaysia 2008 deserves, what with her booming showbiz career and packed schedule. On top of hitting the studio with hitmaker Ajai for a Malay album, she plans to venture into the Taiwan showbiz, “hopefully by this year”, according to her manager.

Despite such a busy lifestyle, the love of her life has never been gone, said the 27-year-old. And that’s singing for her. The multi-talented Soo is back with In My Heart, the repackaged version of her first full-length album Ying Guang (translated as Wincci Shines, released last year).

Playing with the concept of angels and devils, it is a departure from her goody two shoes image and sees the long-haired beauty experimenting with various styles.

So is her music, which brims with the message of feminism. Li Kai Da Ni De Nan Ren (Leave the Man that Abuses You), one out of the two newly added songs, is inspired by a close friend’s experience.

“I want to tell these women to be strong and independent. Do not love someone blindly, although I know it’s quite hard. Sometimes, we have to be rational,” she said.

Accompanying the disc is a picture book done in magazine style. Inside is a collection of breathtaking pictures of Soo, taken in the Republic of Turkey.

Also, check out some never-before-seen images of Soo before she won the crown and back when she was still a chubby kid.

“I was an outcast in school. I didn’t even go to the canteen as people complained that I was too fat. Even my parents were wondering why I was so weighty. I was suffering from low self-esteem,” recalled Soo.

The pictures record her struggle with weight during her adolescence, said Soo, adding that various effective and healthy ways of losing weight are shared in the book.
